BarTender On-premises Starter Label Design Software Edition

BarTender On-premises Starter is the entry-level software for barcode label design and printing, created for small businesses or small departments that want to adopt industry-standard labeling systems. It emphasizes ease of use, allowing labels to be designed and printed within minutes.

Key Features & Licensing

• Single User License (Workstation License) : Licensed for one user, installed on a single PC only.
• Unlimited Printers : Print to any number of printers across the network without additional printer license fees (unlike higher editions that license per printer but allow unlimited users).
• Basic Database Support : Dynamically print labels using data from local Excel or CSV files only. Does not support SQL Server or large ERP systems.
• Standard Design Tools : Includes over 100 barcode symbologies (1D and 2D) and more than 400 ready-to-use label templates.

Limitations Compared to the Professional Edition

• No Custom Data-Entry Forms : Cannot create customized input windows before printing.
• No Enterprise Database Connectivity : Does not support connections to enterprise-level databases such as SQL, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
• No Database Write-Back : Cannot write data back to the original database (e.g., for logging or serial number updates).
• No RFID Printing & Encoding : Does not support printing or encoding data into RFID tags.

To install and operate BarTender On-premises Starter Edition, the following minimum requirements apply:

• Operating System : Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 (64-bit only)
• Memory (RAM) : Minimum 8 GB
• Hard Drive Space : Minimum 20 GB
• Display Resolution : Minimum 1024 × 768 (recommended 1920 × 1080 or higher)
• Additional Software : .NET Framework 4.8 or later
